TullaJOIJOIJOI

Tulla went back to the doctor Friday and her RBC was up to 46!!!! Getting better. She is up to walking a half hour at a time at least 3 times a week. We will keep increasing it gradually. She is having a good time at agility classes as well. Not able to do as much as she used to in one run, but she is definitely head of the class on skills. She is smilin and spinnin!
Ellee is back up to doing school and scout visits to teach about service dogs--what they do and how to act around them. Then we meet and greet. I also take some of the others and talk about therapy and good citizen dogs--how they are trained and what they do. Then I let the kids try some agility equipment--I have a short tunnel and a couple jumps they use to pretend they are agility dogs--they love the play time. Ellee and I were at the mall and met some DAisy scouts so I hope they call. Had to buy cookies you know. I got a new necklace with Ellee's face and her name on it--a silver heart and it looks cute. Boldly is here to visit for a week while his mom is out of town and we are having fun. Ellee is a little jealous of sharing my bed with him but they work it out. Things are going well for the amour agility group!GRRAMS!

PRINCE BOLDLY

My sister had mom babysit her BOXER this weekend while we all went skiing in upper New York--it is where we used to go when we were young kids. Emmett and Tony went boarding while Libby, Jake and I went skiing. It was a fun weekend. We plan to go on other trips so we are lucky mom will puppysit...that is why we call them grrrams and grramps. Boldly remembers living there and fits right in with the pack...He has his own room just like it was for him when he lived there, But he has trouble climbing up on moms bed now. He still loves to run the backyard (he has his own fenced in yard as well). He also enjoys the walks in the park. But he has to take pain pills if he overdoes it too much. It is hard to watch him get old. He is very sweet, but he does give slobbery kisses and snores. Mom is really good about sending us pictures of the dogs doing things like eating, playing or sleeping. We miss them but the pictures help! Thanks grrams--and dont forget you are puppysitting this weekend!!!

Fake Service Dogs

I gotta say I don't know how they do it--mine is real and i am stopped all over the place and asked to prove it--yet I hear other people talk about buying fake vests and taking their dogs into the mall--just this past sunday a lady stood right there in the mall and told me that she was so jealous that I got to bring in my dog that she was going to buy a vest and say she was trainig her dog to be a good citizen dog....i tried to tell her that she could not do that (and yes i did make a follow up call to AKC Citizen Dog Services to double check my facts)...i tried to tell her to ask the mall for a letter saying she could walk a citizen dog since it was not a service dog and she still insisted that a lady who teaches citizen dogs told her she could...and that the lady was walking her dog in the mall that day and the dog was wearing a "in training" vest...i tried to tell her that usually the owner of the dog works with the dog in classes to become a good citizen or therapy dog but that they must be invited into a public place -- they are not allowed by law like a service/working dog. But she insisted others did, the other lady did and told her how and she was going to do it to! I called the mall and gave them a heads up but they are limited on what they can do besides ask if this is a service dog and if they lie--well there it is folks--a great example of good citizenship from the owner!! Maybe she would like to practice being handicapped too??? ON THE OTHER HAND--On the same day we met Toby--an absolutely georgous black lab and his wonderful owner--he is a guide dog and she met Ellee by touch--She and her husband were very nice and Toby has a rich deep velety black coat and big brown eyes! What a sweetie. Good Luck to them and thanks for sharing. I meet so many wonderful people through ellee--those of you who stop to pet her, those who ask about her or complimnent her, tell me their stories about poodles and other dogs, kids who are so gentle, teens who are very kind and helpful to me--while those who fake are a problem, I am still VERY HAPPY AND BLESSED TO HAVE ELLEE!!! AND TO HAVE MARCIE TO HELP RUN ELLEE IN AGILITY AND SHARE ALL HER DOGS WITH US.

REMISSION!!!

FINALLY AND THANKFULLY WE HAVE HEARD THAT WONDERFUL WORD--REMISSION!!
YES, TULLAJOI IS IN REMISSION!!! She is doing very well. She still eats more than usual due to the prednisone effects (she takes 1/2 pill every other day) but she has held the red blood cell at the mid 40's and has energy again. She has to take pills for urine leakage to help control her potty accidents in her crate and give her a least a few hours between potty visits. She will start back into agility class this week and Marcie is so happy. Ellee will go back to class with her. Again, thanks for everyones support. Ellee is finally walking again without a limp. Hopefully she will continue to do well. FINALLY we will be able to start to do school education visits and mall walks. YEAH!!! WE are back on track!!!

PEEKABOO IS A CHAMPION!

WENT TO A NEIGHBORING CLUB FOR THEIR TDAA (TEACUP DOG AGILITY ASSOCIATION) COMPETITION LAST WEEKEND AND PEEKABOO EARNED HER TACH BAR!!! WAY TO GO MARCIE AND BOO!! YOUR ARE CHAMPIONS. IT WAS TENSE--THEY NEEDED 2 RUNS TO BE PERFECT AND HIT THE FIRST RUN OF THE DAY SATURDAY...AND THEN MADE MISTAKE AFTER MISTAKE IN RUN AFTER RUN. UNUSUAL THINGS HAPPENED--THE JUDGE STARTED AND THEN HAD TO STOP A RUN, MAKING MARCIE AND BOO RESTART DUE TO AN EQUIPMENT PROBLEM AND MARCIE AND BOO MADE AN ERROR ON THE RESTART. BOO JUMPED OFF THE TABLE IN ONE RUN, SOMETHING SHE HAS NEVER DONE BEFORE. MARCIE TOLD BOO TO TUNNEL INSTEAD OF CLIMB IN ONE RUN. NERVES CAME TO THE FRONT AND WE ALL WERE WORRIED. KODI RAN AND DID NOT DO WELL IN ANY RUN, SOMETHING HE HAS NEVER DONE--HE IS ALWAYS SLOW AND STEADY! IT SEEMED THE WEEKEND WAS DOOMED FINALLY WE WERE DOWN TO THE LAST RUN ON SUNDAYWHEN MARCIE SAT DOWN AND TALKED TO BOO. THEY CALMED DOWN AND PLANNED THE ROUTE AND DECIDED TO JUST RUN AND NOT WORRY ABOUT THE CHAMPIONSHIP...TO GO SLOW AND STEADY. AND IT HAPPENED...FOR A FEW SECONDS NO ONE MOVED OR MADE A SOUND. BOO WALKED TO MARCIE AND WAITED AND THE JUDGE NODDED AND MARCIE WAS JUMPING UP AND DOWN AND EVERYONE WAS YELLING AND HAPPY WAS EVERYWHERE!!! PEOPLE FROM ALL THE CLUBS SIGNED THE CHAMPION BAR. I BOUGHT HER A BED OF HER CHOICE AND THEN THE WHOLE FAMILY TOOK HER TO MAX AND ERMAS FOR DINNER TO CELEBRATE. THEY MADE PAW PRINT COOKIES FOR HER AND WE TALKED ABOUT THE LIFE OF BOO AND MARCIE--FROM THE TIME SHE MET THE LITTLE PUPPY AND HOW SICK PEEK WAS--THE FIGHT TO KEEP HER ALIVE AND HOW SHE HAS NOT BEEN SICK SINCE--A HEALTHY STURDY LOVING LOYAL AND BRAVE PUP! HOW MARCIE STARTED IN AGILITY FOR A TIME TO SPEND WITH BOO. AND HOW THEY ARE NOW CHAMPIONS IN THE SPORT. YEAH BOO AND MARCIE -- WE LOVE YOU!

PS--KALUGIA CLUB IS WONDERFUL--VERY NICE AND GREAT BUILDING. GLAD WE WENT. REALLY NICE DRAWINGS AND WE WON A BIG NICE BED FOR TULLA--SHE LOVES IT. THERE WERE A LOT OF OTHER GREAT THINGS IN THE PRIZE BASKET TOO! THANKS!

MIRACLE IN OUR LIFE!

TOOK TULLA JOI TO THE VET THIS MORNING AND LEARNED SHE IS DOIN FANTASTIC!! HER RED BLOOD CELL COUNT THAT STARTED OUT AT 53 AND DROPPED TO 15 IS UP TO 42. STILL A LONG WAY TO GO AND WE NEED TO START LETTING HER EXERCISE A LITTLE AND SLOWLY REBUILD HER STANIMA, BUT THE VET SAID TULLA IS BETTER! MICHELLE (VET)SAID SHE HAD BEEN REALLY WORRIED---AFRAID THAT TULLA COULD NOT RECOVER SHE WAS SO SICK! BUT WE ALL KNEW TULLA WOULD GIVE IT HER BEST SHOT. MICHELLE (VET) ALSO SAID THAT TULLA WAS LUCKY FOR SEVERAL REASONS. THERE WAS MARCIE'S DECISION TO TRUST HER FEELING THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH TULLA AND BRING HER IN TO THE VET SO QUICKLY! THEN THE CARE SHE GAVE TULLA HELPED HER SURVIVE. AND TODAY, TULLA SMILED AT MICHELLE AS WE TALKED!! A CLEAR TULLA LAUGHING LOOK! SHE IS BACK WITH US. AND ALL OF YOUR PRAYERS, LOVE, WELL WISHES HELPED!!! THANK YOU!!!
